SUMMER 2016: WEEKS 1 & 2

August 26, 2016  •  19 Comments

This summer's adventure started 8/11.  First stop, St. George UT. Our goal was to play golf at Wolf Creek (actually in Mesquite NV) -  some steps above our skill set but one of those challenges we just needed to try.  Every hole is stunning.

Next stop – Jackson Hole. We rented a condo for 2 weeks during which time we hiked the Tetons National Park and Yellowstone National Park, did some bike rides, played a few rounds of golf, and did a 12 mile float fly fishing trip down the Snake River (yep – caught some trout).  Life coincidence – we met up with a friends from a prior trip, Denny & Linda, who just happened to be starting a tour of the area the day we arrived!

Here's a photographic summary.

STORM BREWING - TIME TO GO!

Good buddies from Denver,  Ellen and Jeff , joined us for a few days. Unfortunately, there was a major fire in theTetons throwing heavy smoke and ash all over the area, causing some campgrounds evacuations and road closures! We toughed out one hike and called it quits on outdoor activities. These last few shots are from our final hiking day in Jackson Hole.  We're bailing a little early to get away from the heavy smoke. Next stop – Park City UT.

True to form, I read the last blog first and now this one! Wonderful pictures and loved your "macro"...lovely! Will share the fish photos and snake river photos with John. He fishes there every fall. Actually leaves on Saturday. We don't play golf but the courses look beautiful, undulating and inviting! We had smoke in Ketchum from the fires in the Stanley area. Thanks for sharing. J

Just getting a chance to look at your photos, Bette, and they are spectacular . . . as usual. So stunning. I was struck by the shot of the horses in the field--it looks like you took it here in Sun Valley. I swear I have a similar shot! But I sure don't have any of the others! Loved the macro shots, too--amazing! Thank you for taking us on your trip! See you soon in PS.

As usual the photos made one feel that you were really there. The animal pix were so good and the Moose in the bushes is great.
You have such a discerning eye that the photos always takeasy time to catch all the details that you want us to see.
Thanks for letting us live vicariously !
Looking forward to seeing you both in November.
